Company Search:
This feature allows you to search our database of
company profiles for information on our member companies. Using our company
search form, you search for companies in a particular field, or find a specific
company you are interested in. The fields you can search within are described
below. If you do not get any results when you perform your search, try widening
your search to include other countries, other cities, and related fields. If
you do not get any results for a particular company name, make sure that you
have spelled the name correctly and try again. If you still get no results,
then the company has not yet signed up with us.
Company Name:
If you know an individual company in which you are
interested in working, then simply enter its name and perform the search to see
whether or not it is registered with us. Make sure you enter the correct
spelling of the company name, as some Arabic names have multiple spellings when
translated into English. Try different spellings if you are not sure.
Country:
Select the country in which the company you are interested in are located, or
leave this field unselected if you are not interested in a particular branch or
if you are not sure where a particular company is based in the Middle East.
City:
Use this field to specify which city the company you are searching for is
located or based. If you do not know this information, leave the field
unselected. If the name of the city is not among the options available, choose
"other" and enter the name of the city in the box to the right. Again, be
careful with the spelling if you are entering the name of the city, because a
slight difference in spelling can result in no matches for your search. You may
need to try different spellings, especially since city and district names that
are translated into English very often have multiple spellings.
Field:
Specify the field in which the company conducts its
business. If you are searching for companies within the marketing field, for
example, enter marketing here. If your search is broad and you do not wish to
specify one particular field, then leave this box blank. If you perform a
search on a particular field and get no results, then make sure the name of the
field is spelled correctly, and also try other related areas. For example, if
you are searching for companies in the banking field, you may enter banking,
investment, or consulting.
Size of Company:
If you have a preference as to the size of the
company you are searching for, enter it here. For example, if you are looking
for jobs in large multinational companies, then you would like to exclude
smaller firms from your search. In this case, you would check the box next to
"Large (more than 100)". If you are not interested in the size of the company,
just leave all the boxes unchecked, and your search will include companies of
all sizes.
How to take the Career Competency Test:
The Career Competency Test is composed of 150 short
phrases. You are asked to rate these phrases according to their relevance to
you - whether they are:
1. "very descriptive of you" and describe your personality very well
2. "descriptive of you" and indicate some aspect of your character
3. "less descriptive of you" and do not describe your personality well
4. "not descriptive of you" and are not characteristic of you at all
For each phrase shown to you, select the appropriate one of these four
responses. The next phrase will then appear in the box, and so on. When you
have submitted all 150 responses, your results will be displayed in a separate
window. These results will rate your responses and show your areas of strength
and the characteristics associated with people who have high scores in these
areas.
You can choose to reveal your scores to employers or to keep them private.
Sharing this information will give employers a better idea of your personal
strengths, how they apply to the workplace, and how you might benefit them as a
company. If you would like to share your results with interested employers,
check the box next to "Yes, I would like to show my results to employers."
You can take the Career Competency Test as many times as you would like. We
recommend, however, that you only take the test again after a significant
period of time, for example 3 months, after you have had the chance to gain
experience or education that might affect your choice of responses. Otherwise,
your test results will likely be very similar.
Choosing this option allows trusted companies to view your contact information
on your resume. Normally, a company is not allowed to view your e-mail address
and/or mailing address, and can only contact you through our site.
By choosing this option, you allow us to show your contact information to a
select group of companies (that we validate) in order to give them more ways of
contacting you.
This increases your chances of finding a job.
For better exposure, we highly recommend that you keep this box checked.
Choose from the list of companies either "All Companies" or one particular
company which you would like to deny access to your resume. If you would like
to keep your resume private, then select the "All Companies" field and our
member companies will not be able to view your resume. Once you press the
"Submit" button after you have selected your preference, a message will appear
confirming that you have hidden your resume. You can unhide your resume at any
time and make it accessible again by clicking the "Unhide Resume" link located
on your My Resume and My Career Manager pages.
The Job Agent saves your job search criteria and sends you emails regularly
with the new jobs available that match your search requirements. You can
activate as many Job Agents as you would like, to cover a number of different
job searches. Before you can activate Job Agents, however, you must post your
resume first. Our Job Agent has a special feature which allows you to include
jobs which were applied to by persons with your similar interests and search
criteria, giving you more options and enhancing your job search. You can
activate this "Smart Search" by clicking on the "Enable Smart Search" box on
your Create New Job Agent page.
Your Default Job Agent:
To begin benefiting from the Job Agent feature, and
to permit you to be able to apply online for the jobs sent to you by your Job
Agent, be sure to post your resume. At CareerMidEast.com, all our members
automatically have a Job Agent created for them when they add their resume to
our database. This default Job Agent finds jobs based on the field of interest
and number of years of experience stated in the resume. You can modify this
default Job Agent on your My Job Agents page.
How to Activate a Job Agent:
The search criteria for the Job Agent are identical to those of the Job Search.
You can activate a Job Agent in one of two ways:
1. Choose the "Save Search as Job Agent" in the Job
Search page. This will save the criteria you choose and create a Job Agent to
email you regularly with matching jobs.
2. Choose the "Create New Job Agent" option on the
Job Agents page and set your search requirements and choice of how often you
would like to receive emails (either as soon as a matching job is found, or
weekly, biweekly, or monthly).
Options:
You have the following options when it comes to your Job Agents:
modify - changes the job search criteria the Job Agent is looking for
view - displays the results of the search performed by the Job Agent based on your requirements
sleep - temporarily stops the Job Agent from sending you emails
delete - removes the Job Agent
