1. Why do I have to submit my resume? Why can't I just attach my
resume?
In order for your resume to be incorporated into our site, it must be entered
into our database using our format. This enables you to apply online for jobs,
as your resume is automatically sent by CareerMidEast.com to the employer you
are interested in. Submitting your resume into our database also makes your
resume viewable to our member companies, who may contact you by email through
CareerMidEast.com if they are interested in you for a position.
2. Do I have to submit my resume all at
once?
Submitting your resume is a five-step process. Once you submit information at
any step, the information is saved and you can return and complete your resume
at any time. You will be given the choice to either complete your existing
resume or delete it and start over.
3. What if I don't want companies to view my resume?
You can deny companies access to your resume by using the Hide Resume link.
This allows you to keep your resume confidential. You can hide your resume from
one specific company or all companies.
4. Can I print my resume?
You can choose from three different printable formats to print your
resume. Just click View Resume and scroll to the bottom of the page.
5. Can I add more than one resume using my account?
No, you can only add one resume for one account.
6. How do I know if an employer is interested in my resume?
If an employer is interested in you for a position, you will receive an email
from us notifying you of the company that would like to contact you. You may
also allow validated companies (those whose information is verified and are
considered trusted employers) to view your contact information (your email
address and phone number are normally not shown to employers. If you wish to
have greater exposure to companies with job opportunities, and especially if
you do not check your email on a regular basis, we highly recommend that you
show your contact information to employers. You can do this on your Modify
Resume page by checking the box next to "Allow Trusted Employers to View My
Contact Information". You'll find it at the bottom of the page.
7. How can I delete my resume?
If you have not completed your resume, you have the choice either to complete
the existing resume or delete it and start over. If you have already completed
your resume and wish to delete it, you can email us at
support@CareerMidEast.com and notify us that you want your resume deleted.
Please include your reason, so that we can help solve any problems you
encountered, as your feedback is important to us. Please confirm with us a
few days later to ensure that your resume has been deleted from our database.
8. What if my employer finds my resume on your database?
To avoid this problem, you can deny your employer access to your resume by
using the Hide Resume function. You can hide your resume from one company or
all companies, if you would like your resume to be confidential.
9. How do I modify my resume?
You can modify your resume by clicking the Modify Resume link. You can
then reenter any information you would like to change, and press the submit
button at the bottom of the page. Your changes will then be saved and you
will be given the option to view your modified resume.
10. How often should I modify my resume?
You should update your resume every few months, and especially when you have
something significant to add, such as a new job or new degree. If you are
changing the focus of your career toward a new field, then be sure to change
your career objective to reflect this, and modify your job descriptions to
emphasize the job skills you have which would enhance your chances of getting a
job in this field.
11. I tried to open my resume from the
copy of the email I got when I applied for a job but it would not
open. How will the employer see it?
Employers see a slightly different version of your resume, one which does not
include contact information (unless you have chosen to include it). You
cannot access your resume from this email because it requires the employer to
log-in and then view your resume.
12. When Adding/Modifying my resume, I
keep getting the message: "Error Has Occurred: Missing Info".
When you get this message, scroll down the page. Any missing information
or errors will be explained in red

country codes on the resume form.Select the "North America" category in
the country codes. It includes both countries
14. Can I change my username?
No, you can't change your username. You can change your email address (by which
we contact you) and your password, but once you have registered for an account
with a username, you can't change it.
15. What do I get with a CareerMidEast.com
account?
When you register for a free account with CareerMidEast.com, you get to post
your resume on our site, search jobs in the Middle East, search companies in
the region, get free career counseling, and read our special features on
interview and resume tips. Once you submit your resume, you can apply
online for jobs. To view all the benefits you get with a CareerMidEast.com
account, click here.
16. Where can I change my email address?
You can change your email address (the one we use to contact you) by clicking
the Modify Email link and submitting your new email address. We will then send
you a code at the new email address. You need to copy this code and use it to
confirm the email address change.
17. How do I change my password?
You can change your password by clicking on the Modify Password link.
18. How can I find jobs on your site?
You can search for jobs on our site using our advanced search. You input
the information on the type of job you would like, in which field, and in which
country (if you want to specify), and then click the Search button below to
view the results.
19. I don't find the jobs I'm looking for.
What's wrong with my search?
You can set the search to look for jobs in your country alone, or only
full-time positions, or only jobs within a certain field. If you don't get any
results using this search, then there are the following possibilities:
a. no job vacancies are available within this field
b. your search parameters are too narrow (in which case, try broadening your
search to include less restrictive salary expectations, other countries, more
than just - for example - part-time jobs, or try a less specific location or
city)
20. How long does it take to find a job
through you?
The key to finding a job is perseverance, so keep checking job vacancies
regularly and don't get discouraged if you're not hired immediately - the right
job is out there. Since new jobs are added to our site daily, check these
new job vacancies in order to keep informed. If you apply to jobs from our
site, you are immediately added to the company's list of applied candidates,
and it is then up to them to contact you if they are interested in you for the
position.
21. Has anyone found a job through your
service?
Yes, many people around the region have found jobs through our free
service.
22. How can I keep track of the companies
I applied to?
You can keep track of all the companies to you apply to by clicking the emailed
companies link, which will display a list of all the companies you applied to
through CareerMidEast.com
23. What does validation of a company mean?
Validation is the process we use to check the information which a company
submits on our site. When we validate a company, we make sure that their
contact persons and contact information are accurate, and that they are legally
registered as a company. When a company is validated, there is a check by
their name which indicates that they are legitimate and the information they
have submitted on our site is correct. If a company cannot be validated,
we indicate this by a mark next to their name. This is meant to protect
you as a job seeker from applying to job vacancies placed by illegitimate
companies or individuals posing as companies. Be sure to check the
validity of a company before you apply to it.
